Delhi govt on Thursday announced that the odd-even scheme will be implemented in the state from April 15 to April 30.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that like last time, women and VIPs will be exempted from this scheme.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said, "The scheme will be implemented from April 15 to 30. The Board exams are getting over on April 12 and we will enforce the scheme thereafter. VIPs, women and two-wheelers will continue to be kept out of the ambit of the scheme. 81% of respondents said that odd-even scheme should be brought again. We can not make it permanent until public transport has been made better."
He further added that around 500 retired defenec personnel will be employed as traffic enforcement inspectors. Sub-Divisional Magistrates will not be involved, Kejriwal said.

The Chief Minister said Government is procuring 3,000 new buses, including 1,000 luxury ones, which will be fielded by December as part of efforts to ramp up public transport. Kejriwal said two-floor elevated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors will be constructed to augment transport infrasgtructure.
Under the formula, odd-numbered four-wheelers were allowed to ply on odd dates and even-numbered vehicles on even dates. Transport Minister Gopal Rai said that the government will make the announcement after reviewing the responses received from the public through multiple channels.
