Commenting on the legislator Raj Purohit's remarks NCP president Sharad Pawar said: "I did not expected bad days will come to BJP so early." However, he said that there are no chances of mid-term poll either at the Centre of in the state.

Pawar said the sting operation hints that there is much resentment within the BJP and it surfacing gradually, "I am confident that people will take note of the alleged scams of the ministers at the Centre and state," Pawar said in Aurangabad on Saturday.

Purohit criticised the BJP's top leadership for handling the party in an autocratic way. He also criticised the state party leadership and alleged that since he was loyal to late BJP leader Gopinath Munde, he was not made a minister. Purohit also criticised the Devendra Fadnavis government for wrong the decisions.

When asked about Pankaja Munde's alleged Rs206 crore chikki scam, Pawar refused to speak. "I will not comment on this issue." Interestingly, Pawar's party youth wing are protesting against the Munde across the state demanding her resignation. They even blocked the Pune-Bangalore national highway on Saturday and distributed chikki in tribal schools.

Pawar said that there are no chances of mid-term poll at the Centre because the BJP has got full majority to run the government. When asked about Maharashtra's political situation and chances of mid-term poll, he said that he cannot comment over chances of mid-term poll. Interestingly, few days ago Pawar had told his party workers that they should get prepared for the -term elections.

Political observer said that Mr Pawar never speaks or hint directly but his statement are suggestive. "We have to read the between the line. The Bihar election is very crucial for the political development not only at the Centre but also in Maharashtra. If the BJP tastes defeat, then the Shiv Sena may also depart ahead of the BMC elections. That can cause trouble to the Fadnavis government paving way for mid-term poll," said an observer.
