Students of government schools in Jaipur wanting to take part in sports need to rush for Aadhaar immediately. The Rajasthan government in compliance with the directives issued by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has made mandatory the card for students interested in making a career in sports.

In a circular issued to the district education officers (DEOs), the department of secondary education has a set a new rule for students to take part in the international, national or even district level tournaments. .

“The directorate has made it mandatory for students to produce Aadhaar card and documents like the mark sheet or domicile certificate before taking part in the tournaments, be it national or district level. Both the documents must have the same date of birth,” an official said.

DNA tried to reach Secondary education director Nathmal Didel and additional director Parmeshwar Lal for a comment, however, they remained unreachable. The order also mentions that students who have passed class 12th will not be eligible to apply for any type of event at any level.
