Tightening its noose, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the unrest funding case, has summoned Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani's son Dr Syed Naeem Geelani for questioning. Dr Naeem Geelani, who returned from Pakistani in 2010, was asked by the NIA to report to its Srinagar office on Monday morning.

"I have received the notice. They (NIA) have said that there is some 2011 case which they have to investigate. They have asked me to come to the interrogation centre at Shivpora. They had asked to report today but I received the letter late. Time mentioned on it was 10 am but I received it at 1 pm since I was away," Dr Naeem told dna.

Junior Geelani said the notice is nothing but an attempt to harass people who are "fighting against Indian rule". "They are trying to harass people especially those who are fighting against Indian rule here.. I am consulting my legal advisors and after their consultation I will go there (NIA office). I have nothing to hide. Whatever they have to ask, let them ask," he said.

Dr Naeem noted that NIA's summoning him is a pressure tactics to compel his father (Hurriyat hawk who is leading the current agitation) "This is pressure tactics otherwise they do not have anything against me," he said.

Reacting to the summons, Hurriyat Conference said after harassing and questioning Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar during their detention, it has been disclosed that Dr Naeem Geelani has been issued a notice from NIA to report to their interrogation centre in Shivpora for questioning.

"Geelani and his family is being terrified and maligned in a well knit conspiracy of Indian agencies. By such acts they will never be able to dent the commitment and will of Geelani Sahab as they have failed to do so in past as well," said a Hurriyat spokesman

Hurriyat spokesman noted that after miserably failing to curb and contain the current mass uprising, Indian government is frustrated to the extent that they frame and arrest the pro-freedom leaders and activists in the pre-planned psychological crackdown.

"But people are much aware of these gimmicks and such childish acts are in no way going to bail them out of their heinous crimes," he said
