To help the newly-recruited cops in quickly identifying chain snatchers, Ajay Tomar, joint commissioner of police (JCP) Sector 1, on Tuesday, organised an identification parade of all the listed chain snatchers of the area.

The parade was organised at the Gujarat University police station where more than 20 chain snatchers were brought from the 19 police stations falling in Sector 1. Chain snatchers were paraded before the police officials, present on the occasion.

Explaining that exercise was carried out to make newly-inducted officials aware of such criminals in the area, Niraj Badgujar, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Zone-1, said, “Recently, many probationary police sub inspectors have joined the force in city. Once they see faces of these criminals, it will help them identify them easily,” he said. Badgujar also listened to the problems and suggestions of the newly-recruited policemen after the identification parade.
