New Blackberry CEO John Chen promises they're here for 'long haul'

New BlackBerry executive chair and interim CEO John Chen has said the company is trying working hard to rebuild itself. Chen has been charged with bringing back the lost glory of the company.

According to AllThingsD, in a brief open letter, Chen said as so many of his predecessors have said so many times before, that BlackBerry is working hard to rebuild itself. He said that the company has begun moving the company to embrace a multi-platform, Build Your Own Device world by adopting a new mobility management platform and a new device strategy.

Chen wrote that the company is also leveraging tremendous assets, including BBM, network and QNX.

He added that while he was proud of these accomplishments, the company knows there is more work to be done.
