As Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the locals residing in the village feared for their lives and urged the government to provide adequate safety to them. "The firing started early in the morning, the entire population of the village is hiding. We are requesting the government to provide us a safe place to live in," said one of the villagers.

The ceasefire violation hampered the lives of the locals residing in the area. The villagers here are hiding in their homes, shops have been closed and nobody has moved out for their work as usual. Earlier today, Pakistan opened unprovoked fire yet again in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir to which the Indian troops gave a befitting reply.

A heavy gun-battle is presently underway and intermittent firing has been consistent since this morning from Pakistan's side. This comes after a spree of ceasefire violations last week by Pakistan after the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army on September 29 on terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
