At least 13 tourists were killed and three others were left critically injured when a bus driver lost control of his vehicle while driving uphill in Himachal Pradesh's Nahan. The bus reportedly skidded off the road and rolled down a gorge leaving another 40 passengers injured.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Nahan, Jyoti Rana, said, "The bus carrying 56 passengers, which had most of the tourists from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh rolled down a gorge in HP's Sirmaur district when it was headed back to UP from Renuka. The bus was at Modraghat, which is 10 kms from Renuka, when it fell into 250 ft deep gorge."

"40 passengers are under treatment in Nahan, while 3 who were seriously injured have been shifted to PGI Chandigarh. The locals helped in rescuing those who were alive and also pulled out dead bodies from the debris."

The locals said that the authorities and ambulance were called, but they didn't reach the spot on time and a lot of lives could have been saved if the required help had reached the spot at the right time.
