On Wednesday, at around 7 am Nageshwar Rao walked in the CBI Headquarters. The early morning visit sparked the unprecedented overhauling. This was the first time in the history of the CBI that both top bosses -Alok Verma and Rakesh Asthana - were divested of all powers and sent on leave. 

Here are all the latest developments from the CBI vs CBI saga: 

1: There are reports that Nageshwar Rao took charge at around 2 am. In morning his visited the CBI Headquarters.

2: The interim CBI director has removed Arun Sharma from the charge of JD Policy and JD Anti-Corruption Headquarters. Manish Sinha, DIG of AC III, has also been removed.

3: The offices on the floor number 10 and 11 have been seized and search is going on.

4: There were reports that during early morning operations, no one was allowed to go inside the CBI Headquarters.

5: According to an India Today report, the Delhi Police had cordoned off the CBI Headquarters at around 1 am. 

6: Reports also said that Rao has taken the keys of 10th floor. 

7: The unprecedented overhauling came after the the prime minister-led Appointments Committee in an order Tuesday night gave charge of the Director to Joint Director M Nageshwara Rao with immediate effect, a government order said.

8: The order implies that the government has side lined all the three additional directors, number three in the agency hierarchy, including A K Sharma whose name had figured in the complaint by Asthana.

9: The decision comes a day after CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana moved the Delhi High Court seeking the quashing of First Information Report (FIR) filed against him by the premier investigating agency of India. The court later ordered that no action would be taken against Asthana until next hearing, which is scheduled for October 29.

10: The CBI had filed an FIR against Asthana for allegedly accepting a bribe from a businessman, who was related to Moin Akhtar Qureshi case. Asthana was heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that was probing Qureshi's case.
