The Muzaffarpur shelter home case continued to rock the Bihar Legislature for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday with the Opposition demanding the government to make public the call details of main accused Brajesh Thakur and "expose the big names who were in contact with him".

The leader of the Mahagathbandhan also marched up to Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum to Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon to dismiss the state government, which it claimed was patronising criminals and was ineffective in maintaining law and order in the state.

"Nitish Kumar is busy calculating whom to save and whom to spare," said RJD's Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, taking a jibe on Nitish's oft quoted phrase that he "neither saves anyone nor implicates anyone".

The memorandum accused the government of deliberately watering down the FIR lodged in the Muzaffarpur case and alleged that the investigation agencies were used to cover up trails rather than ensuring justice.

In the assembly, an adjournment motion was moved by CPI(ML) MLA Mahboob Alam, who wanted a discussion on the Muzaffarpur case following Supreme Court's recent observations. The motion was supported by Leader of the Opposition in Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, who said, "We demand that Brajesh Thakur's call record details are made public as people want to know the officials and ministers he talked to. We will not let the House function until then."

It may be mentioned that Thakur's call details accessed by the investigation agencies had forced former minister Manju Verma to step down after media reported that the records suggested that her husband was in touch with Thakur. Sources say a few more ministers and senior government officials may be in trouble if the details are out in the open.

Yadav questioned "chief minister Nitish Kumar's silence" on the matter and accused the government of shielding some people involved in the case besides destroying evidence. He alleged "deliberate tampering" with his microphone, which was switched off so that his comments are not recorded as a part of the proceedings.

The RJD, Congress and Left legislators also trooped into the well and raised slogans against the government and demanded discussion on the Muzaffarpur case, following which the Speaker adjourned the House.
