Mumbai: Youth, sister booked for kidnap & rape of minor

The Kalwa police have booked a sister-brother duo for the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl. The minor girl's mother has alleged that the brother gave her sedatives before raping her.

According to the Kalwa police, the 32-year-old mother from Bhaskar Nagar in Kalwa said that her daughter was kidnapped by the youth identified as Mustakin. She registered a case with the Kalwa police and later sent her daughter to their native place. The accused's sister, identified as Tarabunissa, later called the minor's mother and threatened her with dire consequences if she didn't take the case back.

"The sister has been booked for taking the minor girl away from her family's custody while the youth has been booked for giving the girl sedatives and raping her," said a Kalwa police officer. "We have registered a case under Sections 376 (rape), 363 (kidnapping), 328 (casuing hurt by means of poison, etc) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code and we are yet to arrest the accused," said a senior officer from Kalwa police station.

"We are investigating the case and we will take the girl into confidence to gather the details of the crime and the place where the incident took place," the officer added.
