The Make a Wish NGO and Mulund Police station on Friday jointly fulfilled a seven-year-old cancer patient's wish of becoming a Police Inspector.
As part of a programme by the Mulund Police Station and the NGO, the jubilant Arpit Mandal donned the khaki uniform complete with a police cap, for a day.
"Mulund Police Station was completely won over by the undaunted spirit of 7 year old Arpit Mandal, fighting cancer! If we could, we would fulfill all his wishes beyond just being a Police inspector for a day #ProtectingSmiles," Mumbai Police posted on their official Twitter handle.

ACP Anil Walzade, Senior Police Inspector (PI) Shripad Kale, PI Lata Sutar, and other officers and men of Mulund Police Station, along with the NGO members were present with Arpit on his big day.
The child and his family also thanked the Mumbai Police for fulfilling his wish, Senior Police Inspector Shripad Kale said in a statement.
Mumbai police, which has always had a tongue-in-the-cheek look at day-to-day events on its Twitter handle, had earlier threw a surprise birthday party for a complainant.
The officers at Sakinaka Police station on October last year arranged a surprise birthday cake for the complainant who came to lodge an FIR after his personal details revealed about his birthday.
“When personal details in the FIR revealed it’s complainant Anish’s birthday, a Cake followed the FIR Copy at Sakinaka Pstn,” the Mumbai Police tweeted.

Mumbai Police's Twitter account have garnered popular response for their pop culture references that also has hidden messages regarding various issues.
"Irresponsible driving leads to unpleasant destinations and you can’t blame the fault in our ‘cars’ for it! Okay? Okay. #BookOfLaw," they tweeted.

For all those uninitiated, 'the fault in our cars' reference has been taken from Hollywood movie 'Fault in our stars' starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.
