Mumbai: Fire in Mankhurd slum; 2 hurt

17 fire engines have been pressed to extinguish the fire.

A massive fire broke out in a scrap market in Mandala, Mankhurd area of Mumbai on Thursday evening. At least 17 fire engines and 10 water tankers were rushed to the spot. As per primary information, two people have suffered injuries and are admitted in Shatabdi and Rajawadi Hospital. 

There is currently massive chaos in the Mandala area. All the roads leading to Mankhurd are heavily traffic ridden. The BMC has shifted the slum residents to three municipal schools nearby namely, Mankhurd Municipal school, Deonar Colony Municipal School and Mankhurd Marathi Municipal school. 

The fire is still raging on.
