Congress asked for dusting out old government reports on Kashmir. Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "Before sending an all party delegation, the government needs to identify stake holders we need to engage with."

The Congress is also of the view that the government should engage with the political parties at the Centre, regional parties in Kashmir and other stake holders. ""It is for the government to identify stakeholders. To win the hearts of Kashmiris, the government needs to tend to their wounds," said Azad.

The Congress has also suggested to the government that instead of setting up another committee to study the situation in Kashmir, it should look at the reports submitted by the five working groups and interlocutors in the past.

"Time and again we have been sending delegations to Kashmir. This will be like another delegation which will only build false hope. Instead the government should study the recommendations of the existing reports and prepare a road map to Kashmir," said Azad.
