Senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar on Monday said that no religion allows slaughtering of cow and crimes like mob lynching would stop if the killing of the bovine stops.

"Tell me one religion which permits the killing of cows. It is called 'mother cow' in Christianity because Jesus was born in a cowshed. It is a sin to kill cows is banned in Mecca-Madina. Can't we commit that we will free the world and humanity from this sin? If it is free, then the problem (mob lynching) will be solved," the RSS functionary said.

His remarks were in reference to the recent lynching of a Muslim man in Rajasthan's Alwar over suspicion of cow slaughter.

He was addressing a press meet in a Ranchi hotel after the inauguration of the office of the Jharkhand unit of Hindu Jagran Manch in the state capital.

He added that no violence, be it in a house, locality, caste or party can be condoned.

The RSS leader said that society also needs the right ‘sanskar’ to deal with this problem.

“Law has to be there and the government must act, but society also needs the right ‘sanskar’ to deal with this problem,” he said.

Kumar also condemned the recent assault on social activist Swami Agnivesh but said nobody has the right to hurt sentiments of others.

Agnivesh was beaten up at Pakur in Jharkhand on July 17 allegedly by members of BJP-affiliated youth groups who accused him of speaking against Hindus.

"It is wrong and condemnable. But nobody has the right to hurt others' sentiments in the name of freedom of expression," Kumar, an executive committee member of the RSS, told the media.

In a press statement, he alleged that 'Pathalgarhi' movements are taking place due to a conspiracy hatched by the church and missionary institutions.

"Pathalgarhi movement is suddenly active in Jharkhand, near Ranchi, as a conspiracy of church and missionary institutions," he said in the statement without elaborating.

'Pathalgarhi' is reportedly a practice in which villagers inscribe various tenets on huge stone slabs and ban outsiders in the area.
Two major 'Pathalgarhi' related incidents had taken place last month.

Five women working with an NGO were allegedly raped at gunpoint by a group of men, allegedly Pathalgarhi supporters, when they had gone to Kochang village in Jharkhand on June 19 to create awareness about human trafficking.

A week later, three policemen deployed at the house of BJP MP Karia Munda were abducted allegedly by the supporters of Pathalgarhi in Khunti district.

"People of some religions are conspiring across the country to revive the foreign flag in India again," Kumar said in the press release.
