The residents complained of vomiting and abdominal pain after they consumed the contaminated water.

An 8-year-old girl on Saturday died and 32 others were hospitalised after consuming contaminated water in a residential colony in Jaipur, an official said.
The residents of Shankar colony near Gopalpura bypass complained of abdomen pain and started vomiting after consuming contaminated water, chief medical and health officer Dr Ravi Prakash Sharma said, adding medical teams were sent and nearly 150 people were given medicines on the spot.
"A minor girl, Kannu was taken to Jaipuria hospital by her parents, where she was declared dead on arrival," he said. 14 persons were hospitalised at Jaipur hospital and 18 were admitted to J K Lone hospital, the health officer said.
Besides them, 6 children from Jamvaramgarh and Kanota area were also admitted to the JK Lone hospital on Friday after drinking contaminated water, he said. Sharma said samples of water have been collected. Public health engineering (PHED) Minister Kiran Maheshwari convened a meeting of officials and directed them to check water supply and to be present on the field.
