RJD Chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav is set to tie the knot next month.

If latest media reports are to be believed, Tej Pratap will marry Aishwarya Rai, the granddaughter of Bihar’s former Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai.

Here are five key facts of the big wedding in Lalu Prasad’s family since 2014:

1: Aishwarya Rai did her schooling from Bihar and stayed in Delhi for her higher education. Her father is Chandrika Rai, an ex-minister in Bihar government. So far, he has not confirmed the news.

2: The media reports suggest that the engagement ceremony of Tej Pratap and Aishwarya Rai will be held on April 18 at Maurya Hotel in Patna.

3: The big wedding will take place on May 12. The soon-to-be wife of Tej Partap is also known as Jhipsi in her family circle. The story goes that it was raining on the day she was born.

4: The reports also say that the Veterinary College ground in Patna has already been booked for May 12 event.

5: Aishwarya Rai’s grandfather Daroga Prasad Rai was Bihar Chief Minister from February 16, 1970 to December 22, 1970.

The last big wedding in Lalu’s family was of his youngest daughter Raj Laxmi, who is married to grand-nephew of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Earlier, Tej Paratp’s younger brother Tejashwi Yadav had said that he will only marry after his brother’s wedding.

According to latest media reports, when the reporters asked Tejashwi about his wedding plans, he simply said that he has left this with his parents to find him a girl.

He also revealed that he would marry only after his ‘elder brothers in politics.’ They are Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s son Chirag Paswan, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar and his Tejashwi’s own brother Tej Pratap.

Earlier, Rabri Devi, mother and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi once famously said that she would only marry her sons to traditional girls. “Hamey cinema hall aur mall jane wali ladki nahi chahiye. Ghar chalaane wali, bade buzurg ka aadar karne wali, waisi ladki chahiye. (I don’t want cinema hall and mall-going girl. We want someone who can manage the house and respect the elders).
