Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, recorded a
maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius, three notches
below the normal, a Met department report said here.
The city received rainfall of 115 mm, it said.
In Haryana, Ambala's maximum was 32.2 degrees Celsius
while Hisar recorded high of 36.2 degrees Celsius.
Karnal and Narnaul recorded maximum temperature of 32
degrees Celsius and 37.3 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 35.2 degrees
Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum of 30.6
and 32.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
The Met has predicted light rains at isolated places in
Punjab and Haryana during next 24 hours.
