Married woman raped by neighbour in West Bengal

 A married woman was allegedly raped at knife point by her neighbour in Weela Teja village, Punjab, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Sunday night when the woman's husband, a driver was not present at the house, said Rajesh Kakkar, station house officer of the Fatehgarh Churian police station.

According to the police, the accused, Harpreet Singh knocked at the victim's door then forcibly entered the house and threatened the victim and her two children at knife point of dire consequences if she did not cooperate. Singh then proceeded to rape the woman and fled soon after.

A case has been registered against Singh after the victim's medical examination confirmed she was raped. Police are currently on the hunt to catch the accused.
