Margao Police arrest youth with 3 kg ganja

Margao police has arrested one Saish Vaswade, 26-year-old youth with 3 kg ganja in the suburban area of Aquem in Margao.

"Our information says that he was arrested around eight months back by the Anti Narcotics Cell with ganja. Today we received a tip that he is peddling again. We laid a trap and nabbed him," police inspector of Margao C L Patil said. The accused was staying in Navelim and he had changed his residence after his first arrest by the ANC. The accused told police that he was involved in selling ganja as he couldn't find suitable employment. He is a dropout.

In another incident, Margao police arrested Akshay Singh, one of the prominent members of the infamous 'Chaddi gang', involved in number of house breaking thefts in multiple states. He was arrested while trying to break into a house. He was accompanied by four accomplices but they managed to flee from the spot. Police are trying to extract more information from Akshay it can help crack many theft and robbery cases in past few months.

"We are trying to get details of their whereabouts and a list of their perpetrated crimes. We are working on it," Patil said.
