Maoists chop off head of 'police informer' in Jharkhand

An unidentified man was beheaded by Maoists after they branded him as a "police informer" in Jharkhand's Khunti district, the police said on Tuesday.

"The headless body was recovered near a river bridge at Gamaria Raja Bazaar and the victim's head was found after a search of the area during the day," sub-divisional police officer AK Sinha told reporters in Khunti.

A leaflet left by the guerrillas read that similar would be the fate of police "informers", he said, adding the dead man’s identity was being ascertained.
