Manohar Parrikar wows social media with his humility

Current Defence Minister and former Goa CM Manohar Parrikar is known for his humility and austere lifestyle.

Before becoming Union Minister, he did not use to take his Z category security. Even now, he often doesn't use all the privileges he is entitled to. In a day and age when special privileges for VVIPs have become exceptionally common and most take full use of it, Parrikar's act has earned rich praise in the social media.  

Kiran Chitnis posted on Facebook about how his mother bumped into Parrikar in her childhood friend's wedding. Parrikar for one and half hour freely mingled with the crowd with his entire security detail waiting outside.  

The post has been liked more than 13,000 times and shared more than 11,000 times. At a time when Parrikar's straight talk regarding army has generated mixed reaction, this picture highlights an often forgotten trait of a rare politician.
