Manohar Parrikar arrives in Goa, expected to table budget today

Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar, who was recently hospitalised in Mumbai, got discharged from Lilavati Hospital and reached Goa on Thursday.

Laying to rest speculations about his health, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar arrived in Panaji from Mumbai and is scheduled to table the budget in the state legislature at 3pm. 
 
Parrikar was being treated at the Lilavati hospital in Bandra for a pancreatic disorder since last week. He was discharged from the facility on Thursday morning and reached Goa by a special flight. He then went home in a private car. 
 
Parrikar is expected to attend the assembly at 3pm and table the budget after chairing a meeting of the state cabinet. The Goa chief minister heads a minority government. 
 
The budget session of the Goa legislature has been curtailed to just four days ending Thursday due to Parrikar's illness. The Goa government will approve a vote on account with a full budget being approved during the monsoon session. 
 
The BJP has 14 legislators in the 40-member house compared to 16 of the Congress. The government has the support of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Goa Forward and Independents (three each) and the lone NCP MLA Churchill Alemao.
