Manipur: CRPF personnel and civilian injured in IED blast

The blast came hours after a militant attack in Assam where at least 13 civilians have been killed.

 A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a civilian have been injured an IED blast near the Manipur State Museum, near Imphal Polo Ground  on Friday. The CRPF personal of the 109 Bn Echo Company was on daily routine Quick Reaction Team (QRT) guarding the Raj Bhavan when the blast happened. 

The blast came hours after a militant attack in Kokrajhar, Assam where at least 13 civilians have been killed and more than 20  sustained injuries after militant outfits belonging to National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) fired indiscriminately. 

The gunbattle ensued when the armed extremists opened fired at a market around 12 kms from Kokhrajar. This sudden incident of firing on people at a public place in broad daylight is first of its kind in the militancy-ravaged state.
