Mangaluru: 17-year-old student found hanging in hostel room

A report in The Hindu states that Noel Wally Mendonsa, 17, was found hanging in the college hostel on Wednesday night. He was a student of St. Aloysius Pre-University College.

The report states that Mangaluru police state that he had returned to his room after dinner and was alone. When the assistant warden was doing the regular night rounds, the room was locked. Despite knocking, Mendosa didn’t open the door. When he looked through the ventilator, he apparently found the boy hanging from the roof.

There is still not clarity over why the boy committed suicide. Noel has been living in the hostel for the last one year. His father works in Dubai and mother lives in Mumbai.
