Cyber Crime Police on Tuesday night arrested an Andheri based man who allegedly created fake Twitter account of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s 21-year-old daughter, Sara and sent an objectionable tweet against NCP Supreme Sharad Pawar.
Cyber Crime Police on Tuesday night arrested an Andheri based man who allegedly created fake Twitter account of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s 21-year-old daughter, Sara and sent an objectionable tweet against NCP Supreme Sharad Pawar.
The arrested person has been identified as Nitin Sisode, 39, a resident of Military Road in Andheri (E).
According to the police, complainant in the case is Sachin Tendulkar’s private secretary who has been working with Tendulkar since past 20 years. On October 9, 2017, the accused person had allegedly created a fake twitter account @SaraSachin_rt and had impersonated as Sara Tendulkar.
The suspect used Sara’s photograph as the profile picture of the said fake account and posted an objectionable comment about Indian political leaders so that the viewers would feel that the comments have been posted by Sara Tendulkar.
One of the comments from the said Twitter handle was “Everyone knows that Sharad Pawar NCP looted Maharashtra State but little known that he tried Centre too”.
A case was then registered in this regard with the police after which a probe was initiated. Probe revealed that the internet connected used to create the said fake account was of Sisode. The laptop that was used to create the said account also had traces of the said fake account, police sources said.
“We are probing why he created the said fake account. It has been learnt that some of the login logout Internet Protocol addresses of the said fake account were from outside India and this has to be probed. It has to come to light that Sisode has created profiles of important persons on social networking sites which we are probing why he had created,” said the officer.
The police have seized a laptop, two mobile phones, a router, an external hard disk, a pen drive, a SIM card and a DVD from Sisode
