On Tuesday, MahaRERA passed another order to settle a case between a home buyer and Lodha Developers.

The complainant had booked a house in Lodha's project Ultima in Thane and later cancelled it. He alleged that the developer wasn't refunding the money and approached MahaRERA for a solution. On Tuesday, the developer agreed to return the money to the complainant and the case was closed.

The complainant, identified as Roshan Nawale, said that he had booked a 2 BHK flat in Ultima at wing 28. He paid Rs 1.08 lakh as the booking amount. Thereafter, the complainant decided to cancel the booking and requested the developer to refund the amount. However, when he could not get his money back, he filed the complaint.

The order issued reads, "After the appearance, the respondent (developer), has shown willingness to pay back the booking amount and accordingly he has now paid it back."

Lodha Group spokesperson said, "Lodha Group operates on the basis of fair and transparent practices. The complainant applied for a flat and paid a sum of Rs 1,08,000. Later, he failed to pay the amount as per schedule and applied for cancellation of booking. In terms of the application, the company was entitled to forfeit the entire amount, since he had applied for cancellation within in less than one week, the company agreed to refund the entire amount. The amount was already repaid and the matter settled before the hearing before MahaRera."
