On the backdrop of the alleged chikki scam, MLA Raj Purohit's revelations and the Malvani hooch tragedy, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had a meeting with governor C Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

Sources in the chief minister's office and Raj Bhavan told dna that the meeting did not have any single agenda but was held to review the situation in the state. The chief minister is believed to have apprised the governor of almost all the issues, especially the allegations made by the Opposition against BJP ministers as well as the hooch tragedy and the recent water logging in Mumbai.

Fadnavis went to Raj Bhavan and met Rao between 1pm and 2.30pm. However, the chief minister's secretaries, including Praveen Singh Pardeshi, were not part of the meeting. Even the governor's staff was out of the room where two heads of the state held the meeting for almost 90 minutes.

Their meeting paved way for speculations and sources told dna that the governor expressed concern over issues being raised in the media about the government every other day. Chief minister Fadnavis is believed to have explained the government's position and expressed resolve that he would not yield to politically motivated campaign against his ministers.

Anna's concern

Meanwhile, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has said that if the chikkis served to Aanganwadis as nutrition diet is found to be adulterated, then there should be an inquiry and action should be taken on the contractor who supplied the product. Hazare was speaking to a few media persons at his village in Ahmednagar district.
