Kasuri is scheduled to attend the launch of his book Neither a Hawk nor a Dove: An Insider's Account of Pakistan's Foreign Policy at 5.30 pm in Worli on Monday.
Maharashtra chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday assured protection to the book launch event of former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, after Observer and Research Foundation (ORF) Chairman and former BJP idealogue was allegedly smeared with black ink on Monday morning.
Kulkarni on Monday alleged that Shiv Sena workers threw black ink at him. Kulkarni told a leading channel, "At least eight to ten Shiv Sainiks attacked me outside my home. Right as I was leaving they smeared black ink on me. I was abused by them."
Speaking to the news agency, Fadnavis said, "For all foreigners, diplomats or foreign dignitaries who are allowed on proper Visa in our country it is responsibility of our government to provide them security. Hence Mr.Kasuri and the program will be provided total security."

However, stating that this doesn't mean that they endorse all views expressed in the program, Fadnavis added, "No anti India propaganda will be tolerated through any such program and if found so the organisers would be held responsible."
The foreign policy think tank has organised a launch event for Kasuri's book and had said that it will continue as scheduled amid threats from Shiv Sena.

The attack on Kulkarni has taken place even as he met Sena president Uddhav Thackeray at his residence Matoshree. It was understood that the meeting would be futile and Kulkarni left Matoshree without getting any assurance from the Sena leader.
