Stepping up his attack on NCP chief Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that the people of Baramati now need freedom from the uncle and nephew duo who have been ruling the political roost. Modi also launched a scathing attack on opposition parties who criticised him for campaigning while the Pakistani troops were violating the ceasefire across the Line of Control.

Addressing the rally in Sharad Pawar's bastion Baramati, Narendra Modi said, "The nation got freedom but the farmers and citizens of Baramati have been enslaved. This large gathering has not come to elect the new government or to choose their MLA. This is a freedom struggle from the uncle and nephew (Sharad Pawar- Ajit Pawar).

"Did Congress or NCP tell you about what they did for the last 15 years? The NCP clock makes no noise. It does everything silently. NCP's watch symbolises the 10 times greater corruption they did in the last 10 years. On October 15 you will not need even five fingers, your one finger can free Baramati," Modi added.

Referring to Ajit Pawar's urine statement, Modi said, "Villages do not get drinking water. When people ask for water, what kind of reply do they get? Can anyone think such people can be ministers? You want jobs, water in farms, employment, freedom from farmer suicides. Let us move ahead with our dreams and I am with you. For the sake of your self respect, you need freedom from all this."

Narendra Modi also slammed opposition parties for criticising him over the increasing instances of ceasefire violations. He said, "I want to ask Sharad Pawar — when you were Defence Minister, China and Pakistan never stopped their antics, but did you go to the borders? There were so many terror attacks in Maharashtra, you had the Home Ministry, but could you even catch the terrorists? Our jawans at the border are sacrificing their lives for the country and you are politicising such issues. Our soldiers have shown their strength and given a befitting reply. Elections will come and go, governments will come and go, but one should not politicise such issues."

Appealing to people to vote for the BJP, Modi added, "I was born in an ordinary household, therefore I am entitled to give you the account of every work that I do. You are my High Command."
