Around 7-8 masked and armed persons stormed inside Check Mate Private Services and fled with cash amounting to more than Rs 12 crores.

In one of the biggest incidents of dacoity in Maharashtra, in the wee hours of Tuesday, around 7-8 masked persons armed heavily with weapons barged into a cash management firm in Thane and decamped with cash amounting to more than Rs 12 crores.
Primary information from Thane police department revealed that the persons had guns and knives and targeted the Checkmate Cash Management Services Pvt Ltd, a well-known company dealing with cash transit and delivering cash to ATMs of various banks.
"The employees of the firm were preparing the van for cash transit when the persons barged in and took away the cash. The total amount could be more than Rs 12 crores, we are yet to get the detailed report," said a senior officer from Thane police commissionerate.
"We will register a case of armed dacoity under the Indian Penal Code and have instructed the Crime Branch to look into the case. We are investigating the case further," the official said.
