Lord Balaji’s Tirupati takes to heli-tourism

Come September 16, Tirupati will see a new tourist attraction – heli-tourism or helicopter tourism. This is the time when the annual Brahmotsavams happen at Tirumala for Lord Balaji and the district tourism authorities want to launch this to coincide with the event.
 
According to report in The Hindu, three helicopters will be part of this tourism activity and two important temples in the area will be seen from the helicopter - Goddess Padmavathi temple at Tiruchanuramd Lord Kalyana Venkateswara at Srinivasa Mangapuram at Tirumala. Visitors will also have a chance to take in a 20-minute aerial view of Tirupati along with the view of the Vijayanagara historical fort at Chandragiri.
 
The concept of heli-tourism has been launched in Tirupati to boost tourism state the officials. A new tourism Tirumala Hills package is also being introduced soon by the state Tourism Department
