Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal has returned a file pertaining to constitution of six major mandies (wholesale markets) to the city government.

The LG has sought to know whether the nominations of the members of the markets' committees' have been made as per rules.

"The Lt. Governor has sent back the file of six wholesale markets' committees to government and sought to know whether all rules were followed in nominating their members," an official said.

The AAP government had sent the same to the Lt. Governor for his approval on these six committees formation.

These committees of wholesale markets are situated at Azadpur, Kesopur, Narela and three at Gazipur.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta today met the LG and demanded rejection of Delhi government's proposal to reconstitute market committees of major mandies.

"Committees are being formed in violation of rules which lay down that the nominated members could only be agriculturist, traders and qualified commission agents and weighmen," Gupta said in a statement.
