Indian tennis ace Leander Paes, on Thursday, field a complaint with the Bandra Kurla Complex police on Thursday claiming that he and his eight-year-old daughter were allegedly threatened by his estranged living partner Rhea Pilla's friend Atul Sharma (40). According to his complaint, Sharma threatened to kill Paes and his daughter. The incident happened on Tuesday at around 11:30 am in Bandra court premises where the hearing of Paes and Pillai's daughter's guardianship case was going on.

A case has been registered under sections 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code by the BKC police. Kundlik Nigade, senior PI of BKC police station said, "We have not made any arrests. We will be examining CCTV evidence, eyewtiness accounts, etc. Investigations are on."

Paes had allegedly produced some papers to prove the relationship between Pillai and Sharma which allegedly led Sharma to react.

Paes, 40, had approached the Mumbai police in May with a criminal complaint against his live-in partner Rhea Pillai, 48, alleging that she was an irresponsible parent and is causing harm to their eight-year-old daughter and that she will forcibly take her out of the country. He has also alleged that she was cheating on him by having an affair with Sharma.

The duo who lived in Bandra since 2005 had a child in 2006. Following the complaint filed by Paes, Pillai filed a complaint of domestic violence against Paes in a local metropolitan magistrate court. She had alleged that she and her daughter were locked out of their residence by Paes. The duo is currently fighting for the custody of the child.
