Rashtriya Janata Dal cheif Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter, Rajya Sabha member Misa Bharti, has triggered a controversy with her remark that she felt like cutting off the hands of Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, who defeated her in Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency in 2014 general election.

Bharti was addressing RJD supporters in Patliputra on Wednesday when she made the comment. In a video clip of the event, which has gone viral, she is heard saying, "He used to cut chaff. I used to respect him a lot but that respect dissolved when on the day he was sitting next to Sushil Modi [Bihar deputy CM] with Modi's book [on Lalu] in his hands. I felt like chopping off his hands with the same axe with which he cut chaff." Yadav used to be a close confidante of Lalu's.
