Lalu's son holding yajna to eliminate enemies, says BJP

It all started with senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi tweeting: "Lalu's son Tej Pratap is getting a Dushman maaran (defeating enemies) jaap performed at his home to eliminate me." Modi, however, added that he was unfazed by such things and "Tantra-Mantra it is not going to save Lalu or his family."

A fresh controversy has surrounded Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son and Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, who is being accused of resorting to 'tantra' and 'Vaastu' to "defeat enemies and overcome difficulties".

Modi said, "A Brahmin priest from Darbhanga has been called to perform the special yajna to eliminate his enemies. It is performed at his official residence at 3, Deshratna Marg, from 8pm to 11pm and Tej also participates in it." It seems they don't believe in the power of the people anymore, he added.

Tej and his younger brother and Bihar's deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, live with their parents at 10, Circular road residence, though he regularly visits his official residence.

Earlier in May, Tej also blocked the south-facing main entrance of his official Patna residence 3, Deshratna Marg, on the advice of some astrologers. "Now on the advice of some Vaastu experts, a small gate has been opened on the northern boundary wall of the bungalow, which is being used for entry and exit purposes by everyone, much to the woes of the locals," Modi said.

Tej has been at the receiving end of benami property allegations made by Modi, and was recently served a show cause notice by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) over allegedly a petrol pump by furnishing false papers.

An RJD leader said Tej is a Lord Shiva devout. "He wears Rudraksha and generally smears his forehead with holy powder. He also visits a lot of temples across the country," he said. His January 1 'Lord Krishna avatar' had even earned him a word of praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after the photos had gone viral on social media.
