After 'exposing' RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family's 'benami properties' in Bihar, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday charged afresh that the Yadav clan has amassed unaccounted property worth Rs 135 crore in an upscale locality in the national Capital.

The latest in the string of Modi's 'expose' against Lalu, which commenced with soil-cum-mall scam on April 4, claims that the RJD chief took help of Mumbai-based AB Exports Private Limited, a shell firm, to acquire 800 square metre plot, D-1088, in Delhi's New Friend's Colony. He also claimed that Lalu is constructing a multistorey on the plot, the total valuation of which stands at Rs 135 crore at present.

As per the documents furnished by Modi, Lalu's younger son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav owns 98 per cent shares of AB Exports while 2 per cent shares are owned by his sister Chanda Yadav, who is a co-director of the company with sister Ragini. They were transferred the ownership by original promoters Ashok Kumar Banthia and Sangita Banthia in 2007-08.

"The pattern here is the same as Delight Marketing and AK Infosystems, where a firm was first set up, it bought pricey properties and later the company's shares, directorship and all linked assets are transferred in the name of Lalu's wife and children, a quid pro quo for favours to them," Modi said alleging that the total Benami property owned by Lalu and company was over Rs 1,000 crore.

Some serious questions raised by Modi include, why five Mumbai-based gold and diamond traders lent Rs 1 crore each to AB Exports without charging interest, why D-1088, New Friend's Colony, Delhi, was the address of several companies of Lalu as well as former corporate affairs minister and RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, why no employees were hired by AB Exports (like AK Infosystems)?

He also sought to know why Lalu had changed the name of Delight Marketing (originally owned by Prem Chand Gupta) to LARA Limited Liability Company only four days after November 8 demonetisation of high value notes. "I am not done with the expose. I have written two letters to CM Nitish Kumar and am waiting for his response... I will force him to break his silence," he said.

Modi, whose press meets relating to Lalu's Benami properties have shifted from his 2, Polo Road residence to state BJP headquarters, has also claimed that these 'insights' to Lalu's alleged irregular deals were being provided to him by people in the Mahagathbandhan government.

The RJD countered the allegations saying Modi has no work and hence, he is making these allegations.
