Shocking incident in Kolkata's Narkeldanga.
In a shocking incident, a Kolkata man's ears were cut off by his wife. Victim Md Tanveer-20 year-old had to face the wrath of his wife who is 20 years older than him. Tanveer, who is a resident of Narkeldanga area of Kolkata had both his ears cut off on Tuesday night at gunpoint.
According to reports, the couple got married two years ago. And soon, complications emerged in the relationship with Mumtaz allegedly torturing Tanveer regularly. Disturbed Tanveer even escaped from home several times but every time he was brought back allegedly by Mumtaz's goons. Tanveer's mother also pleaded to Mumtaz to leave him. However Mumtaz didn't do so even after taking a huge amount of money by selling her husband's home.
Tanveer lived in Mumtaz’s residence only and was not allowed to go to his native place to meet his mother. Tanveer recalls he ran away to Mullickpur but he was again forcefully brought back by Mumtaz and was brutally beaten by Mumtaz and her sisters.And then last night Mumtaz and her sisters allegedly cut off his ears at gunpoint.
They thought that Tanveer is dead but he managed to escape somehow. When his family members come to know about this incident the immediately took Tanveer to NRS hospital. The situation in the area became tensed once the news was known to locals.
Tanveer however has no clear answer about why he married Mumtaz. He merely says that a friend got him married to Mumtaz through clever means, where he was bound to do so. Recollecting the horror, Tanveer said that they cut off his ears and would have killed him had he resisted. Police is yet to file an FIR or arrest the accused. Tanveer's family has raised questions regarding police's role and they gheraoed the local police station in the night. Police claim that the accused are absconding and the case is being investigated
