A year and a half after the Kolkata police discovered a former techie Partho De living with the skeleton of his sister and the corpses of his dogs, he has allegedly committed suicide.

De's immolated himself in the bathroom of his posh apartment in Watgunge in South Kolkata, in a manner similar to his father in 2015.

His father Aurobindo De had committed suicide in June last year after he found that his son had been living with the corpses.

The police have rushed to the spot to recover De's body. A bottle, half filled with petrol and a match box was found next to him.

The Kolkata police discovered what is now being called the Kolkata's Horror House or Kolkata's House of Skeletons on Robinson Street, in June 2015 when they went to Partho's apartment to hand over their father's body.

When they reached the spot, they found that De had been living with his sister and the dogs' skeletons for atleast six months.

During an ensuing investigation, Partho said he loved his sister and the dogs and could not part with their dead bodies. His sister Debjani, it was later found, had died after prolonged fasting following the death of their mother.

The police were also investigating a cannibalism angle in the case to ascribe the absence of flesh, cartilage or tendons on the female skeleton. Partho was thoroughly examined and was also sent to a facility for the mentally unstable. He was later allowed to go without any charges considering his mental condition.
