A day after the charred body of a 77-year-old man Aurobindo De was found in a house in Kolkata, where he was living with his mentally-challenged son and the skeletons of his daughter and pet dogs, more sensational revelations have surfaced.

The special team of investigators comprising the Shakespeare Sarani police station, officials of the Detective Department and led by the Deputy Commissioner (South Division) Murlidhar Sharma, came across the son Partha De's planchette practise. "He used to apparently connect with the spirits of his sister and two dogs and may have even fed them during this process. De had set up a control room for planchette with 10 desktop computers and 2 laptops," said a senior official of the city police.

Meanwhile, police conducted yet another raid at the house and recovered several handwritten letters, diaries and two beheaded teddy bears and are examining them. "The letters are in three different handwritings. While one letter contains a question, another letter carries the answer to that question. It appears to us that the family members did not communicate much among themselves and the only mode of communication was through these letters," added the official.

This apart, police have recovered three mobile phones and are trying to examine the call detail records on them. The family's relatives are also being questioned and reportedly have a property dispute with them. At a recently thrown birthday party by Partha, he had invited his uncle and aunt. While Partha said he did not let his relatives in during the birthday party, his uncle Arun said, "We went inside their flat and carried a birthday cake for Partha. When we asked him where his sister Debjani was, he became furious and asked us to 'get out' of the house."

Partha's diary also suggests that the family members shared a questionable relationship. An excerpt from one of the pages from his diary reads, "My sister was trying to assert herself. My mother became jealous of Debjani. She was growing old. Once when we went to Digha, my mother stripped her in the bathroom. My mother thought I was impotent and she even sent a maid to my room, but she was mistaken. The society did not approve of this, but what we did, we thought was 100% right. Whatever happened, happened because of our decision and we did not regret it."

A day earlier, Partha was admitted to the Pavlov hospital for treatment, where he spent a sleepless night and refused to eat anything. The medical board set up to treat him has decided to make him undergo certain tests.
