Qutbuddin was entangled in a legal battle over succession of the leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community.

The claimant to the title of 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq of Dawoodi Bohra community, Khuzaima Qutbuddin, passed away in the US on thursday, according to reports.
Qutbuddin, 75, had not been keeping well for sometime and was reportedly in California where he died.
In a statement released by Dawat-e-Hadiyah Trust after Qutbuddin's demise, his son Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA has been named his successor.
Qutbuddin was embroiled in a bitter legal battle of succession after his half-brother late Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin passed away in January 2014. Burhanuddin's son, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin claimed that his father had anointed him as his successor.
The matter was scheduled to come up before Bombay High Court before Aprim 22 and May 2.
Qutbuddin operated from Yeoor Hills in Thane.
