Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram, who will be contesting the Lok Sabha polls from the Sivaganga constituency in Tamil Nadu, on Friday thanked the Congress Party for giving him a ticket.
"I am greatly honoured that the Congress has given me an opportunity to contest from Sivaganga," Karti said.
"I am confident the Congress will do well. We have a good track record in Sivaganga. My father has contested nine elections and thought it is time to give way. He is definitely not retiring from politics," Karti added.
The Congress released its fourth list of Lok Sabha candidates last night and announced Karti's candidature from Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu from where his father is the sitting MP.
