Karnataka: Spurned youth chops off girl’s fingers

In Halenaganadoddi village, a youth attacked a 16-year-old girl as she allegedly spurned his love. A report in Deccan Herald states that Ravikumar, 21, attacked the victim with a sickle and ended up cutting off four of her fingers on her left hand. She has been admitted to a private hospital in Bangalore for treatment.

The report states that Ravikumar was working in the victim’s house for the last three years as a tractor driver. He is said to have been in love with her, but she kept turning his down. Ravikumar apparently misbehaved with her six months back and the girl’s father warned him and then sacked him. 

In a fit of revenge on Saturday, the youth attacked the victim when she was coming home from college around 4 pm after she rejected him again. On hearing her screams people rushed to help her and caught Ravikumar who is now in police custody.
