Relief and rescue operations are in full swing, rail PRO Anil Saxena said.

The Kanyakumari–Bangalore Express derailed between Somanayakanpatti and Patchur region in Tamil Nadu in the early morning hours of Friday. Atleast 10 people are reported to be injured in the accident.
Rail PRO Anil Saxena said that relief and rescue operations are in full swing and medical aid is being given to the injured. "As a result of the derailment, 11 coaches were affected. 8-10 injured persons have been admitted to a hospital. We have rushed some buses to the accident site to clear the stranded passengers," he said.
He assured that things are under control and everything is being attended to.
