Three days after failing to secure bail on the ground of being a woman, DMK MP Kanimozhi today moved the Delhi high court seeking the relief citing the need to look after her school-going child who is devoid of the care of his father working abroad.

"The petitioner (Kanimozhi) is having a single school-going child to be taken care of. Her husband is employed abroad and the court should grant bail to her," said the bail plea, filed by the daughter of the DMK patriarch through advocates VG Pragasam, SJ Aristotle and Sudarshan Rajan.

The court is likely to hear the plea tomorrow.

A special CBI court, trying the second generation mobile telepohny spectrum allocation case, had dismissed the bail plea of Kanimozhi, along with that of Kalaignar TV managing director Sharad Kumar, named in the CBI charge sheet for allegedly receiving a kickback to the tune of Rs200 crore.

As per the charge sheet, the money had been routed to the TV channel from DB Realty of Shahid Usman Balwa, who was one of the beneficiaries of the scam, with his another firm, Swan Telecom, securing the 2G spectrum licence during the tenure of former telecom minister A Raja.

Kanimozhi and Kumar both have 20% stake each in the TV channel with DMK chief's wife Dayalu Ammal having the remaining 60% stake.

Kumar too moved the high court today challenging the rejection of his bail by the special CBI court.

Their bail pleas are likely to be heard tomorrow by Justice Ajit Bharihoke who dismissed today the bail pleas of five corporate executives arrested earlier for their alleged roles in the case.
