Salman Khan illegal arms case: Jodhpur court adjourns hearing till March 3

A Jodhpur court will pronounce its judgement in a case of possession and use of illegal arms by Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Wednesday. The case dates back to 1998.

A Jodhpur court has defered judgement on Salman Khan illegal arms case. Next hearing to take place on March 3,  2015. The Bollywood actor was not present at the hearing

The case relates to both possession and use of illegal arms and the chief judicial magistrate's court has kept February 25 for judgment," public prosecutor NK Sankhla of the court in Jodhpur, 330 km from Rajasthan's capital Jaipur said to a news agency.

Salman, along with some other Bollywood actors were accused of poaching blackbucks on the midnight of October 1-2, 1998 during the shooting of Hindi movie "Hum Saath Saath Hain".

Two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, were killed on the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur.

The actor was also accused of carrying and using illegal arms. He is also alleged to have been carrying arms with expired licenses.

A police complaint was then filed against Salman Khan on charges of being involved in hunting of the protected blackbucks.
