J&K: Following series of ceasefire violations, schools along LoC to remain shut for indefinite period

Following a series of ceasefire violations by Pakistan, all schools in Nowshera, Qila Darhal and Manjakote along the Line of Control (LoC) shall remain closed for an indefinite period.

The information was tweeted by Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Commissioner Shahid Choudhary on his Twitter handle.

After Nowshera, another ceasefire violation in Majakote has taken place since Saturday morning.

The district administration has rushed relief and rescue teams to the site and have established relief camps in Nowshera.

Choudhary also named some of the people who lost their lives in Saturday's ceasefire violation.

Choudhary also apprised that evacuation has been halted in view of heavy shelling.

Two civilians have been killed as Pakistan Army continued its unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, to which the Indian troops are giving a befitting reply. "Pakistani Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars from 0715 hours along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera sector," said an official statement.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army posts are retaliating strongly and effectively and the firing is presently on.
