Kite string slits the throat of child returning home with parents on bike, The injury was so severe that the girl died within minutes of the accident.

The string of a loose kite, that had floated down the rooftops and had strayed onto the road leading to Mahaveer Nagar, took away with it the very life of his seven-year-old daughter in an accident so freak that even he wouldn’t have imagined God would unleash on humble priest who has been in His service for life.
The Kumars lost their seven-year-old daughter Chanchal on the festive occasion when the little girl’s throat was slit by a sharp kite string just outside her house. Though the couple rushed their bleeding daughter to the hospital, the child could not survive the wound.
The gruesome incident occurred around noon time. “Around 1.30 pm, Pramod Kishore, priest with the Venkatesh Temple on the Jawahar Lal Nehru Road, was returning with his family to his residence in Lal Bahadur Nagar on Tonk Road.
“The family had gone for a luncheon to a nearby place and were riding a bike to home. Pramod Kumar was on the bike along with his wife and daughter, Chanchal,” Brijesh Kumar, station house officer, Bajaj Nagar police station, said.
Police officials who are on the case told dna that Kumar’s wife was seated as a pillion while Chanchal was sitting in front.
“The incident occurred only some distance from their home. They were heading back when a kite string probably hanging off a kite or entangled in trees or nearby houses came in contact with Chanchal’s throat. Since the bike was in motion, the girl’s throat eas slit by the sharp thread,” the official said.
It was only when the girl started screaming hysterically and crying that the parents were alerted. It took a few seconds before Pramod realised it was a kite string embedded in her throat, police said.
“Seeing blood coming out of the girl’s throat, the father immediately sped the bike towards Sawai Man Singh Hospital so the girl could be treated,” said Kumar. However, the girl lost her life on the way and was declared brought dead by doctors.
