Jaipur: Four cops suspended in case of parading woman half-naked

Four police officials were suspended on Thursday for allegedly not providing timely information in a case where a woman was paraded half-naked on donkey at Thuravad village, authorities said.

Rajasthan police suspended the four cops including Station House Officer (SHO) of Charbhuja Thana in Rajsamand district on the charges for not providing timely information of the incident to the top officials, senior cop of Rajsamand SP office told PTI.

Yogesh Chauhan, SHO of Charbhuja Thana, Gajendra, head constable, Nem Singh and Dhan Singh (both constable) were suspended and sent to lines on the charge, he said.

A Deputy-SP Chandan Singh was deputed to enquire into the case and he will file a report at the earliest. A new staff was posted at Charbhuja Thana, he said.

Forty two villagers, who were involved in the incident, were arrested in this case, out of which 38 were sent to jail and four were remanded to police custody by the local court, he said.

A 40-year-old woman was allegedly paraded half-naked on a donkey on November 8 by some Panchayat members at Thuravad village on the suspicion of being involved in a murder case.
