The killing of 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq in Bishara village of Dadri tehsil near Delhi on the alleged rumour of eating and storing beef has evoked strong reactions from Indian Muslim fighters, currently recruited in global terror groups of ISIS and Al Qaeda.

As news of Akhlaq's lynching by a largely Hindu mob spread last week spread, these Indian fighters who are suspected to be in Iraq and Syria took to social media. On September 30, Abu Thahir Abdulrahman, a Kerala native believed to be fighting with Al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al Nusrah in Syria, posted on his Facebook account: ``In the name of eating beef your Muslim brother has been killed. What about you ? You enjoyed reading in the newspaper !...''

In his tweets on October 1, Magnet Gas account -- supposedly run by Fahad Sheikh, one of the four youth from Kalyan to join the militant group ISIS-- has posted an message to Indian Muslims promising revenge by ISIS. ``We love you all, even if you hates us. Soon IS will take the revenge of Gujarat, Kashmir, Muzaffarnagar.''

In another tweet, he made reference to the recent incident of killing followed after the beef eating rumor with the hashtag revenge soon. The account was suspended after these tweets but has resurfaced again.

Earlier, Maulana Asim Umar, the Indian born leader of Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) wrote in the English language magazine of the terror group Resurgence, of Muslims being suppressed under Hindu supremacy, the communal riots like the Gujarat pogrom, the violence in Assam and the Muzaffarnagar riots calling on the Muslim community to incite a jihad against the Indian establishment. There is no presence of Al Qaeda or ISIS in India, however around 17 Indians enlisted on the ranks and files of ISIS.
